Romualdo Paz is a PhD researcher at Universidad de O’Higgins with a background in biotechnology and translational research. Before returning to academia, he worked in industry as a protein and fermentation engineer, optimizing bioprocesses for the production and characterization of engineered proteins in bacterial and yeast systems.

He is also recognized for helping organize one of the first cancer symposia in Chile connecting Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Universidad Andrés Bello. His experience links biotechnology, innovation, and cancer-focused scientific initiatives, and he is listed as an inventor on two patents.
