About Noemí Gómez

Noemí Gómez is a Bioinformatics Engineer and PhD student in Bioengineering at Universidad de O’Higgins. At Di Genoma Lab, she works on computational cancer biology, integrating transcriptomic, epigenomic, histological, clinical, and ancestry-related data to study tumor heterogeneity in prevalent Chilean cancers, especially gallbladder and colorectal cancer.

Her research combines multi-omics integration, trade-off modeling, and evolutionary perspectives to identify molecular tumor states and genotype-phenotype relationships. She is also interested in using artificial intelligence to infer molecular features directly from histopathology images, with the goal of building more representative cancer models for Chilean and Latin American populations.
